Fundza.mobi is Write4Life's flagship digital literacy platform, providing young South Africans with free access to stories, blogs, online courses and opportunities to publish their own writing.
Established in 2011 by the Fundza Literacy Trust, Fundza has become one of South Africa's leading digital literacy platforms, reaching thousands of young people with engaging, locally relevant content that encourages reading, learning and self-expression. In 2026, Fundza became part of Write4Life, ensuring that this valuable national resource continues to grow and reach new readers and writers.
Fundza is built around the belief that young people are more likely to become lifelong readers when they discover stories that speak to their lives, interests and aspirations. Alongside fiction and non-fiction, the platform offers practical blogs and courses covering topics such as careers, entrepreneurship, health, relationships and personal development.
Fundza also nurtures young writers. Through the popular #LoveWriting section, aspiring authors can submit poems, stories and articles for publication, helping them build confidence, develop their writing skills and share their voices with a wider audience.
Today, Fundza is a space where young people can read, learn, write, reflect and connect, developing the literacy skills that support success in education, employment and everyday life.

Fundza readers describe what stories and reading have meant to them.
Every story I read on Fundza.mobi has a lesson about how to get past the troubles teenagers go through. They make me aware. Fundza.mobi is my best friend; she gets me and understands me.
Now I can see reading is nice.
It really improved my lifestyle. I used to be a social media addict; now I have started an addiction to reading, which comes with many benefits, like being knowledgeable while I am learning new words.
Some of the stories are so interesting you just can't put your phone down. In that way you stay out of problems, like gossiping the whole day; you would rather read more.
